How Mc Laren Cars Made it in Sports Car History

Since Mc Laren's team joined Formula 1 racing in 1966, a total of 106 teams have come and vanished. And two most infamous cars, Mc Laren and Ferrari have stood their way out since 1966. The giant car models have marked great contributions with the introduction of McLaren F1 (1993-'98) and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren (2004-'09), and so far and still remained to be the greatest maker of sports racing cars.

McLaren F1 is a stylish and renowned sports car which is made by Mc Laren Automotive. It is recognized as the 'fastest road car in the world' by March 31, 1998 after the car's exterior was redesign by Peter Stevens. It sets the record speed of 231 mph (372 km/h) with rev limiter on, and 242.95 mph (391 km/h) with rev limiter removed.

Anyone will be amazed with the car's functionalities with its signature design and technologies. As compared with any other sports car, the auto features a ruggedly streamline form and is superiorly lighter. It also has a powerful engine designed to fit in the track's race.

The advanced design of this car has won numerous racing competitions including a record of 166 winnings out of 668. The popular sports automobile also holds the title for 12 drivers' titles, eight F1 constructors' championships, Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.


Mc Laren racing is one of the most triumphant teams that joined the league of Grand prix motor racing. In fact since 1963, it is one of the prestigious car labels who have created some of the most iconic Formula 1 automobiles in the sports history. From the inner to outer design of these cars, they are built to win in the race.

One of the best cars in line with the famous sports car brand includes Le Mans 24 Hours which is formed to win in any race. It is regarded as the oldest sports car which has joined in an endurance racing. It is famously tagged as 'the Gran prix of endurance and efficiency' as the car can run for a period of 24 hours without stoppage and without any mechanical problem.

To be a Le Mans Driver is not easy. In fact, to be a driver, he has to pass an endurance test with the race. For those who are Le Mans fanatics, the car will celebrate its 90th year in the sports car industry in 2013.
